It's been 7 months since someone posted, and I thought that I shall revive the *ahem* dead 08s22 blog. It's eighty days to the start of our A' Levels, and though it doesn't seem very long, it's not short either. Whenever we feel lethargic or when we simply feel like all these stuff and such are just too much for us to handle, let's have faith, restart, hold on, and press on together.

Heys,

I came out with this design for our class tee-shirt quite some time ago. The colour of the shirt may not be this shade of blue, 'cos Zhongrong forgot which shade he decided on. :X But anyway, the top one will be the logo in front and the one at the bottom will be at the back of our shirt. Colours are tentative, do suggest about it! (: But I think the base colour of the shirt will be blue.

Hey class,

I can't believe it, it has already been a whole full year together as a class. I don't think I can forget this class come next year when the class will be disbanded. I really want to thank everyone for their TLC, since this year have been a pretty rough one for me. It is my hope that everyone of you will excel in whatever you do in the future, especially for the A levels so that you can go on with more important things in life after that. Also, I feel the same way as melvin and i really do not bear grudges on anyone. If i have pissed anyone off, i hope that you can forgive me. To conclude, let's all remain as friends next yr though we might be in different classes.

Hey all once again. Haha Promos are finally over. Some of our classmates have worked their butt off for this exam and so i think that they deserve credit. Dun ya think so? So in no order of merit, here are the toppers for the respective subjects.

Hmm abit extra to post here when I'm not in the class hehe. Thanks to Melvin for showing me this blog though. :)

I can see that your class is united and that is good. Do continue to stay united and remember to keep in contact with one another even after you all have left TPJC and embarked on your different paths in life.

Teachers' Day is coming so remember to show your appreciation to Mrs Ting and all your teachers! I feel that teachers don't need any fancy stuff from you but just need to know that you appreciate the hard work they have put in to impart knowledge to you. I would say that you all are fortunate to have Mrs Ting as your Econs tutor. She is experienced and teaches well. In case you didn't know, she is always very busy and her stuff won't seem to finish (If you are in the staff room, you will always see her stressed). She is one of the latest to leave school everyday. Nevertheless, she will still spend time to prepare her lesson well so that you all will get the most out of it. That's why as students, what you could do to help is just simply to pay attention in class. :)

I believe you all know that your promos are less than 2 weeks away. Work hard for it and give it your best shot! Just work hard for these few weeks and you can relax after that. It is not worth getting retained just because you have not put in enough effort. The price to pay is 1 extra year of studying and having to say goodbye to your classmates. I don't think anybody will want that.

Ok then that's all I have for you. All the best for your promos! May you pass with flying colours! :)

Well, the first thing i want to say on behalf of this class is goes to Miss Leow. As all of you would have known by now, Miss Leow has left teaching and is currently pursueing another career. To this, I wish Miss Leow all the best in her new job. Hope that you (Miss Leow) will suceed in whatever you do. Just so you know, we as a class miss you a whole lot. Indeed, we miss 'pang zhong', 'veron' and all your other unique ways in which you have touched us as a teacher. More than that, you are also our mentor. You have taught us things outside of the classroom, to let us unerstand that we are essentially human and not disgusting and slimy bookworms. Yet, your focus has not blurred and your stand for the 'mugger movement' is testament to that. I guess we have certainly not expected all of this to come in such a small package, have we? But as like a diamond, so is the leagacy that that you have left behind-always glittering, always inspiring. Afterall, you are Miss Leow Si Wan. Thank You!

Haha, its been such a long time since i last posted. Lazy me. Actually i also don't know what this post is for, but felt that i had to do this to 'CPR' the blog. Yea?

So since i am typing already, let me write about something that is at least sensible and hopefully worth your reading time.

Hmmm, first things first. I wonder where would we be in a few months time. Will we split into different classes, will some of us be retained, will yet some of us find ourselves in polys? Well, hopefully we will be able to stay together and promote as a class. But this thought brings about yet another scary reality. That promos is not years away and not even monthS away. Its only a matter of 1 month we are talking here. Thats right, its 30 days! In that amount of time later our futures may be enhanced or crippled, twisted and determined. I don't know what you think of this, but for me its a pretty surreal roller-coaster ride, except there arn't seatbelts and you will have to grip tight to not fall off. Worse, its reaching a fall soon!

So hang on tight people, things are going to get a little crazy.

I guess this would have to be the main gist of this post, since it is the only part with words to read. haha. But maybe it wouldn't, cos my mind is not in the best of form today. Ok so lets start.With the exams over and all, and in the midst of well-earned rest and play, perhaps it is timely to reflect on this experience. As the saying goes, " whats more important than the result is the process" Hence, i would not focus on the exam itself but rather the mugging done beforehand. I know that some have studied more than others, yet i am sure that at the very least, last minute studying is done, so this excerpt would be relevent to all of you. Ok, so to study for the exam, i would plop down on my good ole comfy chair and have the relevent study materials on my desk so i would not have to move about and be distracted. Then i would begin by flipping through the notes to find all the "pearls of wisdom". I guess that all these is pretty standard routine for most of us. However, it is through the flipping of the notes that i experienced an epiphany. Many a times when we look through the notes, we would experience certain " flashbacks " of the times associated with them. Take for instance when i study my PAE stuff, all the memories of my time spent during PAE would come racing through my mind. So it is when i study other times. So when i was in that chair and and as i studied chemistry from mole concept to chemical energetics, or physics from measurements to applied mechanics, or even GP from education to crime and punishment, i was actually on a journey back in time, reliving the whole experience, or my JC life to be more specific. And oh boy! i really can't express how much i relished them. This time machine let me relook at the past events from a different angle, to allow me to understand them more in-depth. Also, there are the simple memories of the happy times and the sad times. That i got through it all. Thats why i cherish these studying times. "pearls of wisdom indeed" !

I suppose all of you are mugging really hard in the past month and getting really, really tired of everything. But heys, it'll be over really soon, like, in a week's time? Do hang in there alright! (: And VERY IMPORTANTLY, take real care of yourself and don't overwork yourself. It won't be worth it if your brain can't function properly on the day of the exam.

Drink more water and sleep sufficiently, especially for people like me, whose body clock changed during the holidays (i.e. non functional in morning, functioning really well at night). Yeaps, so, if you're like me, try to switch it back to normal because you wouldn't want to fall asleep during exams!

Alright, so as the title says, there was a mini 08S22 BBQ at Vernon's house yesterday. Mini because only 13 turned up, but anyway, we still had fun yes? (: Thanks so much Vernon, for letting us use your house and left such a big mess after that. ):

JC life is stressful indeed, I cannot beg to differ. School and all its "hectivity" can be agonizing. We pass through each day marginally and return home only to find that gloom hovering above the nonsensical pile of work. Yet, we are able to trudge through the night and return to continue with our daily ritual.

Through these months, I came to realize that obstacles come only when our sight is deviated from the goal. It is then that it all seems like a tragedy.

When we feel as though our pillar is tumbling, and our sole escapade is giving up, I hope these quotations will inspire you to press on further. Like a plane having to overcome the countless opposing forces, we, likewise, have to subjugate those suppressive forces in order to succeed. Nothing comes easy. For "the man who will use his skill and constructive imagination to see how much he can give for a dollar, instead of how little he can give for a dollar, is bound to succeed." Hey guys as you heard it today from our teachers that our criteria to continue with our 4H2 subject combinations is to get an grade average of a C with a pass in GP.

It came as a shock to me as we were almost halfway through the year and nearing the Semestral exams. I know its tough but i really hope we can still promote as a class, to still be 08S22 next year. There are roughly five classes of 4H2 students and it is unavoidable that these classes will break up. But i really hope that our class can be the exception, the one which stands out from the rest because of our determination, unity and dilligence.

It might just span 2 months, but i think our class already had alot of fun together, winning together and being stressed out together.

I know this may seem a bit too early to you, that i should be saying this before Promo's or smth. But i think by then it would be too late. We should all start now because we're a class, because no other class has as much drive as we do, or as much spirit we possess, or maybe even no other class has a blog to share and tell others how much we care about each other.

Well, I came across this article in the newspaper today and thought it was very relevant, and don't know if all of you read it or not, so I thought I should share it. Do read it. (:

Killer of Two Girls "Influenced by Internet Porn Films"

A SOUTH Korean man accused of murdering two schoolgirls and cutting up their bodies had watched "snuff" films downloaded from the internet, prosecutors said yesterday.

Jelog Seong Hyeon, 39, had repeatedly watched films purpoting to show actual murders, said Mr Chong Byong in Suwon, in the western province of Gyeonggi.

Prosectors yesterday charged Jeong with abduction, rape, murder and concealing the bodies, Yonhap news agency reported. The girls had disappeared last Chrismas.

Jeong was arrested early last month, soon after the dismembered bodies of the victims aged nine and 11, were found in some surrounding remote hills.

He has since confessed to killing another woman in her 40s who went missing in the province in 2004.

"Jeong has, over the past 10 years, watched not only a variety of Internet pornographic videos but also repeatedly watched about 70 snuff films downloaded from the Internet," Mr Chong said.

"Under the films' influence, he enticed the victims to hishome on impulse to satiate his loneliness and sexual desire on Christmas night."

According to a psychological test, Jeong has a anti-social personality disorder and traits of sadism and paedophilia. But he did not lack the ability to judge or to make a decision, the prosecutor was quoted as saying.

As a child, Jeong had been repeatedly beaten by his father, who had divorced his mother. His relationships with women ended badly and he developed a deep hostility towards women, Mr Chong said.

Jeong worked as a "replacement driver", making his living by sending inebriated people and their cars home.

He lived alone in the same neighbourhood as the two girls.

Jeong was tracked down after police found blood traces of the two girls in the trunk of a sedan he had rented the day the girls went missing, Korean media reported.

The case, and a separate attempted abduction of a child by another man, shocked parents who began hiring private security guards at some schools.

The Justice Ministry is drafting a Bill authorising tougher penalties for those who commit crimes against children.

Under its provisions, people who sexually assault and kill children agaed under 13 would face either the death penalty - which has not been used for a decade - or life imprisonment.

Hey class,

Its kinda late now so I'll keep he post short but SWEET

Our class got first at the 4x400m relay finals on wednesday. After all the sweat, tears and bloodshed they finally overcame the odds and emerged victorious. Hura for them!

I believe that more victories is yet to come and so we shall keep striving for excellence.

Heys,

There were semi finals for 4x100 and 12x100 for the guys today. Though I was only there to see the 12x100 event, I know that the guys did their best. (: To all the guys who ran for 12x100, I know I didn't run at all and what I say may be crap but I believe that you guys put effort into it and to me it's really something great already. (: I'm afraid of saying further because I don't know how it feels and hence what I say may not be appropriate.

Take this as the beginning of building up the class spirit, we will grow and learn together yes! :D
